The long-awaited sequel to DreamWorks’ beautifully crafted animated film has finally unveiled its official trailer with more promising action and laughs from everyone’s favorite non-human felons, including a new trio of characters.
Universal Pictures’ YouTube account has uploaded the official trailer of The Bad Guys 2.
The Bad Guys is DreamWorks Animation’s critically acclaimed comedy hit revolving around an exceptionally skillful gang of animal outlaws. Now, get ready for a brand new action-filled chapter as the now-reformed Bad Guys are trying their very hardest to be on their best behavior. Unfortunately for them, the crew find themselves roped into a dangerous, globe-trotting heist, conducted by a fresh team of criminals they never saw coming called The Bad Girls.
The sequel based on The New York Times best-selling book written by Aaron Blabey will feature a returning star-studded cast from the first movie, including Sam Rockwell as the dashing and handsome Mr. Wolf, Marc Maron as the safe-cracker Mr. Snake, Craig Robinson as the master-of-disguise Mr. Shark, Anthony Ramos as the short-fused muscle Mr. Piranha, and Awkwafina as the genius hacker Ms. Tarantula, also dubbed as “Webs.”
Joining the original cast who will be voicing The Bad Girls includes Danielle Brooks as the leader of the group and dangerously smart snow leopard Kitty Kat, Maria Bakalova as the intelligent Bulgarian wild boar engineer Pigtail, and Natasha Lyonne as the wry raven with a talent for deception Doom.
Also returning to the Bad Guys 2 is the recent and already critically acclaimed French movie director Pierre Perifel and producer Damon Ross, who are also joined by other voice talents such as Zazie Beetz as Governor Diane Foxington, Richard Ayoade as Professor Marmalade, Alex Borstein as Police Chief now turned Commissioner Misty Luggins, and Lily Singh as the sensationalist reporter Tiffany Fluffit.
JP Sans will be co-directing The Bad Guys 2. In the first film, Sans originally was in charge of the character animation. The sequel will also bring back Daniel Pemberton to compose the soundtrack.
