Tango Gameworks is hiring for a new action game

Following what could possibly be among the weirdest decisions Microsoft has made within the gaming industry, that being closing down Tango Gameworks, the studio was resurrected by Krafton, which has now officially opened its new office. It’s also now seeking developers for an unannounced action game.

As part of its revival, Tango shared its new logo in a post on its website. Meanwhile, a separate post details that it’s hiring. Not much is shared about what the project is, as it could be anything from a new IP or possibly the sequel to the ever-popular shadowdrop, Hi-Fi Rush.

Of course, Krafton was candor about not just buying up Tango for Hi-Fi Rush, even going as far as saying “we don’t think Hi-Fi Rush 2 is going to make us money.” That said, it’s gotta be either that or a new IP, as the acquisition only came with the studio and the shadowdrop’s rights. Other games like Ghostwire: Tokyo or The Evil Within series are still under ownership of Microsoft.

The closure of the studio was probably one of the biggest shocks of last year, proving that even if a studio makes bonafied hits, it’s still at the whim of its parent company closing it down for some arbitrary reason. It’s no longer solely because a studio’s game fails or it doesn’t get enough work; it can be any number of reasons now.

Here’s hoping whatever Tango Gameworks has cooking up, it’ll make Microsoft truly regret closing it down.
