Check out Crime Boss: Rockay City with free playtest

Crime Boss: Rockay City is gearing up for its Steam launch after extensive updates and changes aimed at meeting fan expectations. To celebrate, the game will offer a playtest from June 16 to June 18, giving players a chance to experience the game before its official release.

This announcement was made on the gameโ€™s Steam page, which also included several exciting updates. Key among these is a new roadmap, a 20% discount at launch, and the confirmation that all DLC will be free to keep forever if claimed within the first month of release.

The decision to offer free DLC reflects INGAME STUDIOS’ commitment to addressing the issues that plagued its initial competitor, Payday. The free DLC includes two content packs featuring new heists, missions, enemies, and more. Additionally, two weapon packs will introduce a variety of new weapons, adding further depth to the gameplay.

The newly unveiled roadmap confirms that Crime Boss: Rockay City will receive support until at least 2025, providing a long-term commitment that should reassure hesitant players. The game aims to replicate the turnaround success of Cyberpunk 2077, which overcame a troubled launch to eventually gain respect and popularity within the gaming community.

Only time will tell if Crime Boss: Rockay City can achieve a similar reversal of public opinion, but with these new updates and a clear commitment to ongoing support, the game is certainly making strides in the right direction.
