Amid canceling Black Panther, and shutting down Cliffhanger Games, the developer behind it, Electronic Arts assures fans that it still has three Marvel games in the pipeline. The other public game is an Iron Man game headed by Motive Studios.
As confirmed by IGN, EA still is making true to a deal it signed back in 2023, the same year Black Panther was revealed, with very little about it since then. Beyond that, the third game was kept under wraps. When confronted and asked if there were still three games in the works as part of the deal, a Marvel spokesperson stepped in, confirming that there are, even without Black Panther.
“The multi-title, long-term relationship between Marvel Games and EA, a creative collaboration focused on original storytelling with various, beloved Marvel characters, remains strong. Development of our console and PC titles, beginning with Marvel’s Iron Man, is led by Motive Studios.”
EA won’t be sticking around the licensed game market for too much longer, as CEO Andrew Wilson expressed a desire move away from development of licensed IPs last year. But, considering this was inked the year prior, we’ll see how long before its next licensed IP is made after the three-game deal is done and dusted.
