Yacht Club Games’ Mina the Hollower was a huge success for the Cali-based dev, which is a good thing considering it was very much banking on its success. But, now we can confirm that from a franchise standpoint, this is only the beginning.
In a video interview with Smash Jump, pixel artist and animator Sandy Gordon spilled the beans that we haven’t seen the last of Mina. Now, it should be said that the team has no plans right now for DLC, as Yacht Club’s newest title has plenty of content and that it “put all our best ideas” into the base game.
With Mina the Hollower even after you roll credits, you also have achievements you can strive for that will absolutely shake up your normal play style. There’s new game plus, which has seven different modes, with Gordon singling Mirror Mode, which flips the whole map.
In our review, Associate Editor Scott Hornell viewed it as a “comprehensive collection of mechanical influences and visual styles to craft an engrossing, singular 8-bit adventure that delights as much as it innovates.”
