In an era where gamers fear (understandably so) the rise in game prices, a good chunk of developers are trying to make revealing the price of a game such a last minute thing. LEGO Batman: Legacy of the Dark Knight is one such case, where Warner Bros. refuses to mention how much it will cost.
Even on the game’s very own FAQ page, as spotted by Stephen Totilo on Bluesky, Warner Bros. only offers a weirdly worded statement that it’s not available for pre-order, but you can wishlist it now. This doesn’t spell good things for the title, though, we suspect WB won’t opt to make this its first $80 game.
“LEGO Batman: Legacy of the Dark Knight is not available for pre-order yet, but the game can be wishlisted now on PlayStation®5, Xbox Series X|S, and PC (Steam and Epic Games Store).”
Of note, it’s important to point out that WB usually follows trends, and so far it has solely been Nintendo with Mario Kart World that has opted to launch a standard, new game at the $80 price point that many fear will become standard. Microsoft planned on releasing The Outer Worlds 2 for that price before backtracking following pushback. Meanwhile, we can all assume 2K (it is the same studio that started the $70 trend, after all) had intentions of releasing Borderlands 4 at that price before once again reeling things back after pushback, albeit mostly due to Randy Pitchford’s response and then subsequent apology.
Right now, LEGO Batman: Legacy of the Dark Knight doesn’t have a release date beyond a 2026 release year.
