Have you been missing the intense flow combat of the Batman: Arkham series or the antics of school life in Bully? Well, this upcoming indie game — Sugar Isogu — looks fix that issue.
Sugar Isogu will be the debut title from Studio Tubanar and is inspired by Rockstar’s Bully, Sega’s Yakuza Zero, and director Gareth Evans’s fantastic movie The Raid. While there isn’t much information available about Sugar Isogu as it is still deep in development, the developers have shared many interesting videos regarding the game. Most recently the development team announced on X that they are entering full production starting this week.
The combat looks fluid, and as you take on multiple enemies, you will have to pay attention to not only the person you are fighting but also everyone else around you. There is a counter system as well as the traditional souls-like dodge roll.
The story of Sugar Isogu will focus on fighting back against substance abuse, and what better way than beating up gangs? The main character Rin Helena and her friends are fighting against different gangs and the looming threat of “The Wicked Children.”
Hopefully, more information will come out about this game. Did we forget to mention that a demo is on the way? A demo is set to be released on Steam in the second quarter of 2025. You can give the team a follow on X and wishlist the game on Steam. Check back for more indie spotlights.
