Nintendo confirms new film projects after The Legend of Zelda movie

in News
Brandon Williamsby Brandon Williams
November 28, 2025

Nintendo announced the company’s motivation and plans for the future. The company is investing in various entertainment media to welcome a broader audience to Nintendo’s creative realm, especially movies. After confirming the success of Super Mario Bros. Movie, the company will continue to develop within the film industry, opening possibilities for other Nintendo IPs to grow.

The reports reveal the new schedule for the confirmed Nintendo movies launching by 2027, like Super Mario Galaxy Movie and The Legend of Zelda live-action movie. There are also unconfirmed projects planned beyond The Legend of Zelda movie. This gives several opportunities for Nintendo to develop its established franchises through the big screen, especially with the new Nintendo Stars. Itโ€™s unlikely for every Nintendo series to reach film, though some IPs can still develop through Nintendo Picturesโ€™ video content, like Pikminโ€™s “Close To You”. More details about Nintendoโ€™s films and videos will be revealed later in the latest Nintendo generation.

โ€œWe reaffirmed that our unique brand of entertainment has the power to expand our fanbase across generations and to build long-term relationships with our consumers.โ€
